SKI RACING EDITOR BUSTED

Don Cameron, long-time editor of Ski Racing Magazine, was busted in an internet sex sting put on by a Colorado District Attorney.

Cameron was arrested after chatting with a decoy that he thought was a 15-year-old girl. Though he wrote for the "girl" to wait three years and call him, he also performed a solitary sex act for her on his webcam.

The owner of the magazine, Gary Black, who hired Cameron, fired him immediately upon news of the arrest, and will take over as editor. Though Black relocated the editorial offices in Salt Lake over the summer, Cameron stayed in the Denver area and worked from home.

GRETCHEN THE RIDER AND SCOTT THE SKIER GET FACE TIME

Forget supermodels, super athletes are the new hot thing.

Snowboard champ Gretchen Beiler and World Cup skier Scott McCartney will be on the cover of different magazine after rockin' photo shoots that amazed them both. Bieler was dressed as a goth-ish rowdy cowgirl and learned to throw a lasso for the shoot. She will appear in a Euro magazine called Useless that uses athletes as fashion models; the book is a giveaway at Europe's largest winter trade show.

McCartney got some surprises during his mountain shoot for Men's Journal. He thought it would be like a newspaper photo session; click, click and done. But the magazine crew included a wardrobe crew, tailors, and a makeup lady---and they wanted him in a suit!

The on-site tailors had to let out the pants to fit over a ski racer's butt and thighs. The shoot took four hours, and instead of snow, McCartney was photographed in his boots and skis on a piece of foam. The issue will be out in late January.

AUSTRIAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE UNDER INVESTIGATION

The Austrian Olympic Committee got a black eye when five athletes on the country's nordic ski team were busted for blood doping. But that's not all they got. The International Ski Federation (FIS) is now investigating the officials of the Olympic Committee to find out how it could have happened.

Austria, whose athletes dominate the Alpine world Cup, was part of a Torino Olympic scandal in 2006, when syringes and empty bags of blood were found in athlete hotel rooms.

Three Austrian cross country racers were banned for two years by the IOC. Two biathlon athletes were banned for life. There has been no word on whether or not alpine racers will be investigated.

ROXY TEAM GETS TRICKY IN "LABOR OF LOVE"

Get to Brewvies in Salt Lake City for the premier of "Labor Of Love," which features the Roxy women's factory team as they compete around the world. The tricks on film are amazing. Team riders and freeskiers will be there for autographs and general schmoozing, and there will be a raffle of Roxy merchandise.

Sarah Burke, Jess Cumming and Erin Comstock will tell of their adventures as pro athletes during an audience question session.

Brewvies, a "cinema pub,' is located at 677 South, 200 West, in downtown Salt Lake City.

CALL A FRIEND FROM EVEREST?

So you've paid $65,000 or more to have a sherpa carry your stuff up to the top of Everest and serve you hot tea every morning of the climb. When, or if, you get to the summit, you naturally want to take out your phone and speed dial a friend.

Aw shucks! They not only don't have a paved trail up the steep mountain, they don't have cell service! What's a dilettante to do?

Well, it seems that so many climbing 'clients' complained about no phone service, the Himalayan government is going to install a cell tower. Just three things: who will install it? where will the guy wires go? And will they do a reality show about it?
