Patrick will cover climbing; both the sport and the community. He has climbed much of Little Cottonwood, Big Cottonwood and the Unitas, among many other rocky areas. Despite working for a living, Patrick still manages to get out to climb three to four days a week, often with his girl friend, who is also a climber.
Patrick works at the Black Diamond store in Holliday, where he is the resident climbing expert. In winter, he works at Alta.
I would also like to introduce you to the man who makes the pages; webmaster Jp Roberts. Formerly a video editor at ABC4, his visual sense is amazing. We've received many compliments about the clean, uncluttered look of Adventure Sports Weekly, and we intend to keep it looking like a magazine. It was Jp who brought the magazine's unusual online appearance to life.
For those who have asked about past stories, past content is always available You can check the Table Of Contents for each week's latest stories, or click on Browse Stories to read past content.
Adventuresportsweekly.com will soon be holding a photo contest for the best outdoor action shot; with fantastic prizes. Start thinking of the possibilities: a mountain biker taking an awesome jump, a triathlete's intense expression when nearing the finish, a close-up of a climber using a nearly invisible crack to cling to a rock. The possibilities, as they say, are endless.
And, if you want us to list an event or know some incredible athlete worthy of a story, send your event and suggestion to: info@adventuresportsweekly.com
If we use your suggestion, you will receive $20.
Meanwhile, here is something to think about: on any one day, you have all the time there is. Don't settle for sitting on your butt inside four walls. To paraphrase Queen, "Get on your bike and RIDE!"
